Well, the cover and pictures of the first volume of Ochitekita scream “brainless power fantasy harem” so I passed.
I don’t know if I’ll read it later (how would you compare it to … let’s say Vanadis for “fantasy harem with a dash of tactic” for exemple ?)..

If I were to compare these 2, I’d see as follow:
Ochita:
– More developed tactics, psychological games, and less overpowered characters. The MC is the brain of his group (harem), super smart, and knows how to deceive his enemy. Ruthless protagonist who won’t hold back from killing an enemy that stands on his way.
Vanadis:
– Tactics of dashing and killing. Overpowered characters who can take out a multiple enemy single-handedly and greatly influence the course of a battle. The MC, although brave, mostly follows other people. Can fight for his principles, but can’t decide his actions on his own.

I read way too many japanese novel where the author think that pointless eichi scene and a vague plot that never amount to much is enough to avoid writing a real plot and a smart story so when I saw the illustration of multiples females characters with breasts bigger than their head and a description of a pervy MC falling from the sky in the bath and gropping the main heroine I was quite put off…
